Overview
Froot is a fast-paced 2D online multiplayer shooter built around short, chaotic arena matches. It is currently in development and has not released yet, so what follows describes the game as designed rather than as shipped — worth stating plainly, because pre-release pages that read like launch pages tend to disappoint the people most interested in them.
The design centre is match length. Froot targets quick matches where a full round fits into the gap most people actually have, rather than the longer sessions competitive shooters usually demand. That constraint drives everything else: faster time-to-action after launching, arena layouts that push players into contact early, and a scoring structure that resolves within a short window rather than rewarding attrition.
Skill, movement and strategy are intended to decide outcomes rather than gear or time invested, and characters are customisable so players can be visually distinct without that translating into a competitive advantage. Froot is planned for both the Play Store and iOS, which makes it the cross-platform counterpart to Top Team. If you want to be notified at launch, the contact page is the most reliable route.
How It Plays
Drop into a quick match
Matches are designed to be short and immediately active, so the time between opening the game and actually playing stays minimal. This is the single most important constraint in the design — a fast game that takes three minutes to enter is not a fast game.
Fight in close-quarters arenas
Arena layouts are built to bring players into contact early rather than rewarding players who avoid engagement. The intended feel is high-energy and chaotic, where reading a situation quickly matters more than holding a position patiently.
Win on skill, not on gear
Movement, reflexes and in-the-moment strategy are meant to be what separates players. Customisation exists for character identity rather than as a power curve, so a new player is not facing an opponent with a mechanical advantage earned purely through playtime.
Play across platforms
Froot is planned for release on both the Play Store and iOS, so friend groups are not split by device. This is the main structural difference from Top Team, which is Android-only today.
Who It Is For
Short play sessions
Players who want a competitive multiplayer shooter that fits a few minutes rather than requiring a booked-out evening, without the match feeling truncated.
Cross-platform friend groups
Groups split between iOS and Android, where most mobile multiplayer titles force everyone onto one platform or exclude someone entirely.
Competitive arena players
Players who want outcomes decided by mechanical skill and positioning rather than by progression systems that reward time spent over ability.
What to Decide Early
It has not launched yet
Froot is in active development. Features described here reflect the current design and may change before release, and no launch date is being promised. Treat this page as a preview rather than as documentation for a game you can download today.
Chaotic by design, which is not for everyone
The fast, high-contact arena format is an intentional choice and it deliberately trades tactical depth for pace. Players who prefer methodical, coordination-heavy team shooters will likely find Top Team the better fit within the same studio's catalogue — the two titles are aimed at genuinely different appetites rather than being tiers of the same thing.
Multiplayer games depend on population
Any online-only competitive game lives or dies on how many people are playing at the hour you want to play. That is worth weighing for any pre-release multiplayer title, and it is the main reason the Discord community around Playxoft's games matters as much as the games themselves.
