Clikso
The next-gen URL shortener
AI-powered link management platform — branded short links, real-time analytics, QR codes, custom domains and A/B testing on a global edge network.
About Clikso
Clikso is Playxoft's flagship in-house SaaS: a complete link management platform that turns long, ugly URLs into smart, branded assets. Every redirect executes on a global edge network with ~20ms latency, while AI analyzes destination content to auto-generate concise summaries and optimized slugs.
Beyond shortening, Clikso is a full marketing toolkit: real-time analytics with geographic, device and referrer insights, customizable QR codes, password-protected and expiring links, UTM campaign tracking, and A/B split testing that routes traffic across multiple destinations. Teams can connect their own domains in seconds — SSL included — or self-host the entire platform on their own infrastructure.

Overview
Clikso is a link management platform built around a simple observation: a short link is not a convenience feature, it is infrastructure. Once a link is printed on packaging, embedded in an email sequence or handed to an influencer, it has to resolve — correctly, quickly, and for as long as the campaign lives. That reframing is why redirects run on a global edge network at roughly 20ms rather than on a single origin server that is fast in one region and slow everywhere else.
The platform covers the whole lifecycle rather than just the shortening step. Links carry custom slugs on your own domain with SSL provisioned automatically, so traffic stays on your brand instead of advertising someone else's. Real-time analytics break traffic down by geography, device and referrer. QR codes are generated at print resolution with your logo and colours. Links can be password-protected or given an expiry date, which matters more than it sounds for anything shared outside your organisation.
Two capabilities push it past a typical shortener. A/B split testing routes a single link across multiple destinations and reports which one converts, so you can test a landing page without rebuilding your funnel. And AI reads the destination page to generate a concise summary and a sensible slug, which removes the small friction that stops people from shortening links properly in the first place. Teams that would rather own the whole stack can self-host it and keep every byte of traffic data in-house.
How It Works
Connect a domain
Point a subdomain such as link.yourbrand.com at Clikso and the SSL certificate is provisioned automatically. Links created from that moment resolve on your brand rather than a generic shortener domain, which measurably affects click-through on anything shared publicly. You can run several domains side by side if you operate multiple brands.
Create and enrich the link
Paste a destination and either write a slug or let the AI read the page and propose one. This is also where you attach UTM parameters, set a password or an expiry, and generate the QR code. Doing it at creation time rather than afterwards is what keeps campaign tracking consistent across a team.
Resolve at the edge
Each click hits the nearest edge location rather than travelling to a central origin. The redirect is issued in roughly 20ms and the click is recorded asynchronously, so analytics collection never sits between the visitor and the destination. This is the part that makes short links safe to put on physical media.
Read the results and iterate
Traffic breaks down by country, device and referrer in real time. Where a link is running an A/B split, the comparison between destinations is reported directly, so the decision about which page to keep is a reading exercise rather than a spreadsheet exercise.
Common Use Cases
Marketing campaigns
Branded links across email, paid social and affiliate channels, with UTM tracking applied consistently and per-channel performance visible without exporting anything into a separate analytics tool.
Print and packaging
QR codes on physical media, where the destination may need to change long after the artwork is printed. Editing the link beats reprinting the box, and edge resolution keeps the scan-to-page experience fast on mobile data.
Internal and gated sharing
Password-protected and expiring links for documents, previews and pre-release material shared outside the organisation, where the ability to revoke access afterwards matters more than the shortening itself.
What to Decide Early
Choose the domain before you start creating links
Short links are difficult to migrate because their whole purpose is to be durable — the ones already printed, sent or indexed cannot be rewritten. Deciding on link.yourbrand.com before the first campaign costs nothing; deciding afterwards means either running two domains indefinitely or accepting that some historical links will outlive the domain they were created on.
Agree a slug convention early
Slugs are the part of the system humans read, and they drift fast once more than one person is creating links. A convention as simple as channel-campaign-variant keeps analytics groupable and stops the same campaign appearing under four different names. Retrofitting this is possible but the historical data stays messy.
Decide where link data should live
The hosted platform is the faster path and the self-hosted option gives you full data ownership. The deciding factor is usually not cost but whether click data counts as regulated personal data in your jurisdiction. Teams in health, finance and public sector work often find the self-hosted route is the only one their compliance review will approve, and that is much easier to establish before migration than after.
