Quick answer

A Notion water tracker widget is a row of glasses you tap to log water inside a Notion page. Playxoft's free water tracker counts glasses toward a daily goal, shows the total in milliliters or fluid ounces, starts fresh at midnight and can show the last seven days. Your log stays in your browser. Set your goal, copy the embed link and paste it into /embed in Notion.

  • Tap to log a glass
  • Daily goal
  • ml or fl oz
  • Resets at midnight
  • Last 7 days
  • Saved in your browser

How to use the Notion Water Tracker Widget

  1. 1Set your Daily goal in glasses.
  2. 2Set the Glass size and choose ml or fl oz for the total.
  3. 3Switch on Last 7 days for a small chart, and pick a style.
  4. 4Press Copy embed link, then type /embed in Notion and paste it.
  5. 5Tap a glass each time you drink. Tap the last full glass to undo.

How much water should I drink a day?

There is no single number for everyone. The US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine set an adequate intake of about 3.7 liters of water a day for men and 2.7 liters for women, and the European Food Safety Authority about 2.5 and 2.0 liters. Both count all water, including what is in food and other drinks, and food usually provides around a fifth of it.

"Eight glasses a day" is a handy rule of thumb rather than a scientific rule. You need more in hot weather, during exercise, and when pregnant or breastfeeding, and some medical conditions call for less, so follow your doctor's advice if you have one.

8 glasses250 ml2 liters
8 glasses8 fl oz64 fl oz (about 1.9 liters)
4 bottles500 ml2 liters
3 bottles750 ml2.25 liters

How does the water tracker work?

Tap a glass to fill every glass up to it, or press + Glass. Tap the last full glass again, or press the minus button, to take one back. Drink past your goal and the widget keeps counting, with a small "+2" after the glasses.

The line under the glasses shows how many you have had and the total in milliliters, liters or US fluid ounces. When you reach your goal it says so, in your accent color. At midnight on your device, the glasses empty for the new day. With Last 7 days on, seven small bars show how close you came to your goal each day this week.

Where is my water log saved?

  • This browser only. Your glasses live in your browser's storage for the widget, on this device. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no account, and it does not sync between your laptop and your phone.
  • Yours alone. Everyone who opens the Notion page gets their own copy of the widget, starting empty. For a tracker a whole team shares, use a Notion database instead.
  • The title names it. The widget saves under its Title, so two trackers on your pages need different titles to stay apart. A new style or color keeps your data.
  • When it is not kept. Private windows and strict privacy settings can block storage in embeds; the widget then says so and works for that visit only. Clearing your browser's site data erases it, and Safari can clear it when playxoft.com has not been visited for a while.

The widget keeps the last two weeks of daily totals and nothing else.

Tips for drinking more water

  • Match your bottle. Set Glass size to the bottle you carry, so one tap is one refill.
  • Keep it in sight. Put the tracker at the top of the Notion page you open every morning.
  • Pair it. Add "Drink water" to a habit tracker to build a streak, or count other drinks with a counter.
